A ‘simple’ invention perhaps, the toothbrush is an item that exists in pretty much every household. Most of you know what the modern version of toothbrush looks like, but have you ever taken the time to see how the toothbrush has evolved throughout history? A boring topic perhaps, but nonetheless, the evolution of the toothbrush is actually quite interesting. It’s been estimated that the first toothbrush appeared around the 3500 BC mark and is said to have been used by Egyptians and Babylonians. The first toothbrush was actually a wooden stick. People would chew on one end of the stick until the fibers of the wood, shaped into a brush formation. The brush formed end, was then used to clean their teeth.
